Doomadgee PCYC Wet Season Fishing Classic 2011

Tuesday, August 9th, 2011

Skytrans was proud to support the first ever PCYC Wet Season Fishing Classic in Doomadgee at the end of April. This was a fishing event for the locals and the competition was fierce. The event was a huge success with over 150 competitors participating in the competition. The Major prize was 2 return flights to Mount Isa on Skytrans.  There were many prizes to be won for both adults and juniors, including lucky door prizes.

 The major prize went to Aunty April, a proud and local member of the Doomadgee Township. Well Done Aunty April!

Skytrans goes to the Mount Isa Show

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

Skytrans was a proud supporter of the  2011 Mount Isa Show.  We sent a couple of staff out this year to check it out.  This is what Skytrans Customer Service Representative Chelly had to say;

“Upon arrival at the show, we first looked at the agricultural and quilting displays, and were impressed by the high quality of work as well as the variety of subject matter (including quilted monster trucks with flames coming from the exhaust).  We then enjoyed a reptile show including, a presentation of Australia’s most venomous snakes, before a token trip to the show  bag stand – for our respective nieces and nephews of course.  Sadly none of us were game enough to face the show rides this year instead opting to relax as a bystander of the Mount Isa pet show, featuring a QLD state of origin supporting Great Dane, Bluey the blue tongue lizard, and a couple of pugs by the names of Pugsley & Pugalina.  After viewing the various exhibits the official opening of the 30th Annual Mount Isa Show commenced, including presentations of the lifetime memberships to the show society.”

 Sounds like  a fantastic day!
